Merida is one of the hidden gems of Mexico. It’s the largest city in the Yucatan Peninsula, but its popularity trails behind other cities like Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, and Tulum.
Did you know Merida is the safest city in the Western Hemisphere? Did you know Merida once had more millionaires-per-capita than any other city in the world? Did you know Forbes called it “the foodie destination to visit when the pandemic ends?” Did you know Conde Nast magazine’s Reader’s Choice Awards has rated Merida as “the Best City in the World?”
I didn’t either, until I discovered this paradise on a road-trip with my cousin and our friends. Now, through Casas Thorpe and these posts, I hope to share Merida with you!
